Nicolaas Brewery - Goirle
There was already a brewery in Goirle around 1700, which passed into the hands of Nicolaas Huijbert van Broekhoven in 1769. Brouwerij Nicolaas was thus a fact. Until at least 1801, Nicolaas brewed his beers, which were much appreciated in the local pubs. The brewery became a regional concept. However, beer brewing stopped in the course of the 19th century and the building was taken into use as a farm.
250 years later, eleven friends from Goirle decided to restore their village as brewing village to its former glory. On the Gorp and Roovert estate, on the edge of a nature reserve, they built their brewhouse. The beers are brewed according to traditional methods, which ensures tasty end results.
