In days gone by, this centuries-old smithy on the Smedestraat in Elburg processed metal into horseshoes, tools or ship fittings. The brick hearth with hanging flue, the anvils and the workbenches; they are all still intact and can be seen in what is now a museum forge. On the first floor, an exhibition is dedicated to the history of the blacksmith and in the forge it is even possible, by appointment, to have a go at blacksmithing yourself.
