De Nabershof is located in a Saxon farmhouse from 1681. It is the oldest farmhouse in Emmen and now a national monument. After years of decline, it was purchased in 1990 by the association 't Volk van Grada. After a thorough renovation, it became part of the UNESCO Global Geopark De Hondsrug. It now serves as the ‘expedition gate’ for the themed exhibition "Farming on the Hondsrug", which tells the story of agricultural life in this landscape from prehistory to the present day.
There are two permanent exhibitions to see: Farming at Noordeind and Farming at the Nabershof. The exhibitions take you on a journey through time, back to the farm life of the old days in Emmen.
On the grounds behind the farmhouse is Dolmen D43, which connects to the experience of ancient habitation in this area. De Nabershof shows you how historical farm life is connected to the landscape, culture and archaeology.
