Between the rivers Rhine and Meuse lies a region rich in pottery traditions. For centuries, craftsmen found their “gold” here: clay from the river floodplains and wood from the surrounding forests. Today, street names in Milsbeek such as Potkuilen, Sprokkelveld and Panoven still reflect this ceramic heritage. A true gem in the area is Museum De Oude Pottenbakkerij in Milsbeek. Here, you step into a world of clay and fire, where traditional techniques and beautiful finished products come to life.
In the museum, you’ll learn everything about the region’s pottery history. The display cases feature contemporary, handmade ceramics, which are also available for purchase in the museum shop.
