Museum de Heksenwaag - Oudewater

N 52.023318 / E 4.872272

Between the 16th and 18th centuries, numerous people were accused of witchcraft. In 1545 Oudewater was granted the unique right of Emperor Charles V to weigh witches on the city scale. They were weighed fairly and could prove their innocence. In this museum you can stand on the scale yourself. People all over the world come here to get their certificates. An interesting and fun way to get off during your cycling route!
