Molen De Grenswachter - Luyksgestel
The mill was built after the burning down of a post mill in 1889. The burnt mill was formerly a ban mill of Postel Abbey. In 1970 the mill was sold to the municipality. After a thorough and lengthy restoration, the mill would be officially put back into use on May 25, 2002. The bakery museum is located next to the mill. Here is shown how in the old days bread was baked from flour using traditional methods. The oven is still fired in the old way with bundles of branches. While the bread is rising, the museum public is given a tour of the mill and the museum shop can be visited. This combination of mill and bakery makes it possible to follow the entire processing process from grain to bread in a short time. Because the total baking process takes two hours, baking is only done after reservation.
