Leiden Botanical Garden - Leiden

N 52.1570208 / E 4.4856201

Unique plant collections are discovered in the Hortus botanicus Leiden, the oldest botanical garden in the Netherlands. Exceptional plants can be seen here all year round, including crown jewels such as the Victoria amazonica, the Chinese lotus (Nelumbo nucifera), carnivorous plants and tropical orchids. The Hortus consists of four hectares of garden. It is divided into gardens with different focus areas, such as a Japanese garden, a Chinese herb garden, a fern garden, a medicinal plant garden (the Clusius Garden) and a system garden, where you can learn more about plant systematics.

The Hortus Grand Café is the ideal place for a cup of coffee and some goodies after a visit to the garden and the shop.
