Learn everything about the history of the Dutch cultural landscape and the efforts of the Dutch Cultural Landscape Association to restore, protect and preserve it. With detailed information and beautiful photos, the museum shows why maintaining the cultural landscape is so important. You’ll also find a large collection of animals that live in cultural landscapes, and there’s an aquarium full of the rich life found in a farm ditch. For children, there are peep boxes and treasure hunts.
In the garden, you can admire eleven miniature landscapes. These show in detail how the Dutch have shaped their land, from Texel to South Limburg. The route begins with a countryside idyll from southwest England and continues past ten typically Dutch landscapes.
Two badgers live at the Landscape Museum in an artificial sett. This sett, modelled on a real badger sett with an extensive tunnel system, shows how badgers live in the wild. Because if there are badgers in an area, it’s a sign of a healthy landscape.
Next to the museum lies the 'Palland' valley, where you can walk past woven hedges, wooded banks, sunken lanes and grafts. It’s a beautiful area where you can spot rare plants like orchids. Along the path, there are QR points with background info about the special features you’ll see.
