Kampina Nature Reserve - Boxtel
Anyone who cycles over the Kampina in the dew early in the morning will believe in fairytales. Through the mist you can see the white peat fluff move gently, you hear the sound of birds such as the curlew, tree pipit and red-breasted wheatear and you may just encounter horses or cattle. Nine different species of amphibians enjoy the pools and fens, dragonflies dance around you like little elves... The photo was taken by Geurt Besselink for Natuurmonumenten.
