This mill was built in 1884 after the blowing over of a post mill dating from 1655, west of Schoondijke. The new mill burnt down almost completely in 1900. Only the hull was left standing at the time. In the same year, the repair started, using parts from other mills. The top wheel came from a post mill in Bruges and the sprout was used from the mill in Cadzand. After restoration, this flour mill was in operation until 1956 and then temporarily from 1961 to 1963. Since 1992, the mill has been owned by the De Hulsters Mill Foundation and they had the mill restored. The mill is regularly put into operation for the public on a voluntary basis for grinding fodder.
