The Gerarda Mill was originally built in 1851 as a polder mill in Engwirden (Heerenveen). Around 1913, it was relocated to Hierden. In 1950, the mill was moved once again and rebuilt in Heijen, where it replaced an earlier stone mill that stood on the same site.
The Gerarda Mill has a sail span of 24 metres. The miller can tell you all about the history of this remarkable mill.
