The former Fort at the Nieuwe Steeg was built in 1879 as part of the New Dutch Waterline. As soon as you cross the bridge you will see bombproof barracks and the sloping fortress island. The fort was set up a few years ago as an educational attraction in the field of cartography and navigation, hence the name GeoFort. In the 3D Café or on the terrace you can enjoy a delicious meal or a cup of coffee. At GeoFort there is ample free parking.
