This outer polder along river the Oude Maas is a so-called wet polder. She floods during the winter when the river runs high. With her own pumping station the polder is pumped dry later on. The Hoeksche Waard residents call this polder De Blankert. In 2014/2015 Rijkswaterstaat did their utmost to recover a piece of nature here to make sure various native plant and animal species can thrive here again.
