Once there was a beautiful garden here full of fruit trees, vegetables and fragrant flowers. Unfortunately, after the airborne landings of Operation Market Garden during the Second World War, not much remained of its beauty. Residents of Oosterbeek have restored the garden to the beautiful oasis that it is today. In May 2008, Garden De Lage Oorsprong officially reopened and it's alive!

There is something for everyone to do. Garden lovers admire the garden rooms, art lovers indulge themselves in the changing exhibitions, while connoisseurs enjoy an honest piece of cake and others get answers to a pressing question in the labyrinth. On special Sundays, many visit the cultural programme: music or an inspired story in the Green Forum or in the greenhouse. In season, young and old can pick delicious berries or a beautiful bouquet in the picking gardens. Children can play with wooden boats near the pond and the watercourse.
