Fort near Veldhuis - Heemskerk
The Fort near Veldhuis defended the dike road leading from Heemskerk. This dike road was important because on both sides the water level could be regulated down to the last centimetre in case of flooding. Nowadays, the fortress is a museum about the air war in the period 1940-1945, with special attention for the people of the air forces in World War II.
