At the edge of National Park De Biesbosch lies the southernmost fortress of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Here, at the UNESCO monument Fort Bakkerskil, you are immersed in the past with the luxury of today.

Host and hostess Marco and Hanny run this special B&B with passion and respect for this special heritage. "You can always come to the B&B. Because we want as many people as possible to enjoy this beautiful location, we are open every weekend and every day in the summer months for a drink and something tasty or a delicious lunch."

The partially covered terrace on the fort's grounds is the perfect place to relax. If you want to explore the surroundings, you can rent an electric bike here.

Sleeping in the fort is a real experience. For example, you can spend the night in the former powder room, the officers' quarters or the infirmary. Anyone who has been here once will keep coming back!
