Pulling yourself across the small river De Berkel with the foot ferry is the only way you can admire De Staringkoepel. This is the only way to get to the other side. Besides, it is also a nice change for while cycling especially if the weather is nice.

The 'tea dome' on the other side was owned by the youngest daughter of poet A.C.W Staring; Constantia Ernestine Theodora Staring. Here she used to have her tea with her friends and enjoy the view in the meantime. In 1893, Constantia died and the cupola fell into serious disrepair. Fortunately, the dome was restored in 2004 and visitors can now enjoy (almost) the same view.
