Diepenheim House, in its current form, dates back to 1648; however, as early as 1177 a former version of Diepenheim House was destroyed. If it stood on the exact same location cannot be said for sure. It is remarkable that the house is built against a hill. This results in the front of the castle lying lower than its rear. The house is privately inhabited and is therefore not open to the public.
