De Wilde is Goirle’s youngest mill, built between March 18 and November 21, 1898 by Leonardus M. Kouwenberg, using parts from a 17th‑century Lieshout mill. It burned down on New Year’s Eve 1936 but was swiftly rebuilt in 1937, powered by both wind and engine. In 1946, C.J.Ch. de Wilde acquired it; after his passing, his widow and miller Jo de Wilde continued operations. Fully restored in 1977, it has been managed by Stichting Akkermolens Goirle since 1997 and is operational again. New sails were installed in 2022, and the mill grinds regularly once more.
