De Schapenkop viewing tower - Dwingeloo
The Dwingelderveld is fantastic. From viewing tower De Schapenkop, also called De Keep, you have a wonderful view of this almost foreign natural beauty. On the other side, you overlook the A28 motorway, where as many as 55,000 cars a day race past.
The viewpoint is a work of art in itself. It is shaped like the head of a Drents heideschaap and is about 5 metres high. The sheep's head is also the logo of National Park Dwingelderveld.
