De Fiere Vineyard - Zutphen

De Fiere Vineyard is run by Anita and Erik Geerders-Hermsen. They started their wine adventure in 2012. From an early age, Anita was involved with plants on her parents' farm. She continued this interest while studying Tropical and Organic Agriculture, after which she worked in several tropical countries. After gaining a lot of experience, she returned to her parental home and managed to rediscover the Achterhoek countryside.

Anita and Erik grow different grape varieties, always taking nature into account. In particular, the wooded banks around the vineyard are made attractive to insects and other animal species. Native tree and shrub species are interspersed with herbs, flowers and cereals. This provides breeding sites and food for field birds such as partridge, yellow wagtail and yellowhammer. Bees, bumblebees and butterflies descend on the nectar of the flowers. This enhances biodiversity, but the vibrancy of the field edges also makes the vineyard even more beautiful to look at.

De Fiere Vineyard is a member of the Coöperatie Verenigde Achterhoekse Wijnbouwers. The wines of De Fiere Wijnakkers are divided into four quality lines: the Achterhoek Talents, the Achterhoek Only Goanders, the Achterhoek Op Holt series and the Achterhoek Brut. A number of wines have been awarded by international wine committees!
