On the dark night of 12-13 May 1943, the air was pierced by the sound of an aircraft crashing. It was a Short Stirling III BF523, an imposing aircraft of great significance during WWII. On board was a seven-member crew, led by pilot W. Morey. They were on their way back from a successful mission and were taken completely by surprise by this attack.
