Of the original medieval castle, the only remains are two round towers made of Kunrader stone. A part of the rampart wall also remains. The current castle was built around 1713 by the Aachen merchant Herman Lamberts, since 1682 lord of Cortenbach. It was renovated again in 1776. The castle now has an office function and can only be visited from the outside.
