Cheese farm De Ruurhoeve - Hoogeloon
This family farm has been making cheese the traditional way for generations. That starts with good fertile soil for feed, respect for the environment and consideration for the well-being of people, animals and the environment.
On the farm, the cows live in a special family herd and are given a lot of freedom. They get to choose when to go out to pasture, when to rest and when to be milked by the milking robot. Uniquely, the calves are allowed to stay with their mothers for at least three months.
The milk is processed into delicious cheese using traditional methods, without the addition of colourings, aromas or flavourings. The cheese is given time to mature on wooden boards and you can taste that!
De Ruurhoeve specialises in artisanal cheeses from the Kempen region. Besides the cheeses, the farm shop also offers a wide range of regional products, local beers and wines. You can also find nice gifts and regional packages here.
They also offer various activities and day trips, such as a farmer's coffee table, picnic, cheese-making workshop, cheese and wine tasting, treasure hunt, cycling in the Kempen and hiking tours. On the farmer's terrace, visitors can enjoy (h)honest regional products from the Land of the Brabant Kempen.
