Welcome to Cheese Farm De Franschman, an idyllic farm located at the edge of the dunes in Bergen, North Holland. Here, traditional farmhouse cheese is made from raw milk, straight after milking about 40 cows. The milk is still warm, which adds to the unique flavour of the cheese.
In the farm shop, you can not only taste and buy these artisanal cheeses, but also other local products like apples, potatoes, eggs, ice cream and delicacies from Jan Bax Veen.
On Saturday mornings between 9:00 and 10:30, you're welcome to take a look in the cheese dairy. During this tour, you'll see how the cheese is made and get an explanation of the traditional process. There’s also a small petting zoo with goats, piglets and even a llama.
