Botanical Garden Malden - Malden

N 51.789586909062 / E 5.860485383277

A botanical garden is a landscaped feature where you can see native, wild flora and fauna. The Botanical Garden Malden has twelve different biotopes (landscape types). Originally, the old cultural landscape in this region consisted of nutrient-poor and dry sandy soils. The current, landscaped biotopes contain more than 70 plant, mushroom and animal species that are on the red list of endangered species. They can survive here because of the management measures taken.

In the botanical garden, which is maintained by volunteers, you will find a vegetable garden, fields, a thicket border, sparse grassland, a herb garden, bee hives, an amphibian pool, a fens, woods and much more. There is an adventure trail for children and the family trail is easily accessible for everyone. At the entrance to the botanical garden, there is a special parking area for cyclists, where you can secure your bike.
