From the birdwatching screen, you look out over the lakes of Delftse Hout. The lake was created in the 1960s when sand was excavated for the construction of new residential areas nearby. Next to this lake is another bird lake, created in 2000. The bottom of this lake was excavated to different depths to offer a varied food supply for birds.
