A stunning inland bird reserve where sandwich terns and waders nest on the shell-covered shores. From the Wadden Sea dike, you have a clear view of the birds in the creek landscape. During spring tides or storm surges, they flee from De Schorren and the Wadden Sea to Utopia, where they can wait in peace until the salt marshes and mudflats reappear. With rising sea levels, these safe havens are becoming increasingly important. You may also see spoonbills and turnstones here.
