Aekingerbroek - Wateren
In the 20th century brooks were straightened, so that the land became drier and farmers could use their land as much as possible. The Vledder Aa and the Tilgrup also underwent this fate, which resulted in the nature reserves suffering from severe dehydration. Fortunately, the insights have changed and brooks are being given free rein. In the Aekingerbroek the consequences are visible: nature is developing. This is good for plants and animals, but also for the variety of the landscape.
