08. Pumping station De Antagonist - Leidschendam
Just past the triple mill system, on the right side of the road, you pass pumping station ‘De Antagonist’. Just like De Volharding, this former steam pumping station was designed in 1882 by J. Goldberg. It also replaced a triple mill system, this time the one of the Combined Starrevaart and Damhouderpolder. In 1930 the steam pumping station was converted into a diesel pumping station. It remained this way until De Antagonist was taken out of operation in 1998.
