Westerveld Mill - Tilligte
The mill was built in 1865 and put into use by miller Brunninkhuis. He was also a baker, a combination that occurred more often in the eastern part of the Netherlands. In 1911, a petroleum engine was put into use for windless periods. When a rod broke in 1929, a switch was made to full motoring.
During the Second World War, the wooden octagon was sawn off halfway and the remaining mill body served as storage space for Brunninkhuis' cattle fodder company. In 1982, the Oortmanmolen Foundation took the initiative to restore the mill to grinding condition. After the foundation acquired ownership of the mill, the name of the foundation was changed to Molenstichting Lattrop-Tilligte. After restoration in the course of 1984, the mill was officially put back into use on 8 December.

November to March open every Saturday from 10.00 to 12.00. April and October open every Saturday from 10.00 till 13.00 hrs. May till September open every Wednesday from 13.30 till 15.30 hrs. Other times by appointment.
