Viewing Hill Oudemirdumerklifter - De Fryske Marren
How did the low Netherlands get such high cliffs? These were formed in the penultimate ice age. The pushed up boulder clay ridges used to be called yawning. That is why this area is called Gaasterland. A footpath leads you to the top. There you can relax and at the same time enjoy the view over the IJsselmeer. On the water are often many species of ducks to see and grebes feel at home here.
