Saint Nicholas Church - Dwingeloo
This brick, gothic, hall church was built around 1410 on the site of an older church from the 12th century. The nave is single-nave and gives access to an annex on the north side, the so-called Sint Maartenskapel. In 1923 a big fire hit the church, only the walls remained standing. The famous and striking onion-shaped spire from 1631 was also lost. A slightly less slender copy replaced it and is now the beacon of Dwingeloo.
