Lunenburg Castle - Langbroek
Just before you reach Langbroek you can see the renovated Lunenburg Castle on your right. It is owned by the Fentener van Vlissingen family. Lunenburg Castle was first mentioned in written documents in the 13th century. It was almost completely destroyed in WWII. It has a tower that acted as a defence structure with apartments and no less than 1.5 m thick walls. Today the castle is in private hands and does not open to the public. Gardening clubs however can register for a pre-arranged visit to the gardens throughout the year.
