Hotel Restaurant Oud-Poelgeest Castle - Oegstgeest
Oud-Poelgeest Estate is located on the border of an old barrier beach and peat grounds. In 1856 the Willink Oud-Poelgeest family bought the estate. During its extensive renovation in 1864 the characteristic onion-shaped towers were added. From 1909 the castle was uninhabited when its last resident, Geraldine Willink, moved to ‘Huis te Bennebroek’. In 1940 she sold the estate to the borough of Oegstgeest. During WWII the castle was used by Dutch, German and Canadian military. The coach house now features a restaurant where you can enjoy lovely lunches and dinners. The estate also boasts a cosy hotel.
