That you can enjoy the heather on the Dwingelderveld is thanks to two sheep herds. They graze a lot, which keeps the heather open. Schaapskudde Ruinen leaves around ten o'clock and around four o'clock in the afternoon they come back. Always a beautiful sight, so bring your camera or smartphone!
