Gunterstein Castle - Breukelen
The Gunterstein of today was built in 1681 by Magdalena Poulle and goes back to a knights hub from the beginning of the 16th century. The drawings of today’s estate were most likely made by Adriaan Dortsman. The design is characterised by an austere, almost unornamented classicistic style. The proportions are based upon those of the divine proportion: the house, visual axes and gardens form a perfect ensemble. The house and gardens are closed to the public.
