Jonkvrouw Louise Blaauw-Six, wife of Frans Blaauw, becomes the owner of Gooilust in 1890. Frans has a taste for the eccentric. On the estate, he creates a full zoo with animals like wildebeest, bison, trumpeter swans and blesbok. You won’t find these animals at Gooilust today. But you will spot more than sixty bird species. Blaauw’s legacy lives on in exotic trees and plants.

The house is not accessible, but the surrounding park is. The showpiece of the estate is the ornamental garden (open at limited times).
