This route shows how much peace and space can be found around Deventer. From Diepenveen you cycle into the Salland countryside, along quiet roads and past greenery that naturally slows the pace. The landscape is varied and open, with places where people have lived, worked and reflected for centuries. Along the way the scenery gradually shifts towards the city. You pass sheltered spots where history and silence clearly play a role, sometimes hidden behind walls or among the greenery. Stopping for a moment here comes naturally. At the end of the route the landscape opens up again. In the floodplains along the IJssel you look out over water and grassland, with space to pause and take in the surroundings.
