This is a wonderful route for cycling enthusiasts who love history but also the green, Dutch landscape. This region is known for its rural character and charming, centuries-old villages such as Raalte, which has been around since the 12th century. People even walked around here thousands of years ago. During this cycle route through Raalte, Wijhe and Olst, you will mainly encounter vast farmlands and the characteristic countryside, with a hint of history and culture here and there. One of the highlights of this route is Kasteel de Haere, which has its origins in 1559 and has changed considerably over the centuries. Today, the castle is owned by the IJssellandschap Foundation. The operational Wijhese Molen also adds a special element to your ride. This mill has been around since 1703, making it the oldest octagonal tripod mill still in existence in Overijssel.
