Oosterhout is known for its hospitality and conviviality, as the folk song goes: “Oosterhout, so irresistible, because: you really can’t pass it by”. Nature is also celebrated in the folk song. Forests, purple heath, monasteries, parks, the basilica, sand and clay. You see: it is absolutely worth exploring this city and its surroundings by bike. But first, you are in the wooded village of Ulvenhout, where you can feast your eyes on the green landscape and beautiful views. The breathtaking Wolfshaar Estate is definitely worth a visit! After Ulvenhout, the route continues through the picturesque Gilze-Rijen. Although these villages form one municipality together, each has its own charm, such as the majestic Chaamse forests and, near Rijen, the magnificent forest area De Duiventoren. Along the way, you will also pass various country houses and nature gates. Enjoy the beautiful architecture and the natural surroundings, and don’t forget to pause now and then for a delicious cup of coffee, lunch or refreshing drink.
