Nunspeet, 't Harde, Vierhouten
From Vierhouten to Nunspeet and back via 't Harde to Vierhouten. 40 beautiful kilometres through nature and beastly fun stopovers. Nunspeet is a beautiful old village on the Veluwe. How old exactly? That’s unclear, but where the church now stands, one already stood in 1313. The first beastly stop you’ll come across is De Duif windmill. This mill dates back to 1886 and is still maintained and used by the mill’s foundation. Cycle through the Veluwe’s nature towards 't Harde, a village named after the harder soil it was built on. Just before you reach 't Harde, take a break at the A. Vogel Gardens. Feast your eyes on brightly coloured flowers and plants and learn more about medicinal herbs. Then continue the route back toward Vierhouten. While cycling through the Veluwe, keep your eyes peeled. You might just spot something beastly in the bushes. Wild boars, deer, foxes, badgers and pine martens all live here. The best chance to see wildlife is around sunrise, so for the early birds: set that alarm!
