Cycling route from Hardenberg to Kloosterhaar

This cycling route takes you from Hardenberg to Kloosterhaar and back via the Vecht. During this route you will enjoy breathtaking landscapes, beautiful nature and some cultural sights. We start the trip in Hardenberg, a beautiful city in Overijssel. From here you cycle towards Kloosterhaar, passing the Engbertsdijksvenen nature reserve. This peat bog area is an important breeding ground for many birds and offers beautiful views over the vast heathlands. From Kloosterhaar you cycle on to the Vecht. The river the crosses Overijssel takes you past Natuuractiviteitencentrum De Koppel, where you can learn more about the local flora and fauna. The center offers various activities and exhibitions for young and old. After this fun stopover, continue your route along the banks of the beautiful Vecht River. Enjoy the quiet rippling water and green banks as we cycle back to Hardenberg. You are almost back in the center of Hardenberg, here you can visit the historic Molen de Oelemeule. This mill dates back to 1533 and was last restored in 1996.
