Centuries ago, the Geul and the Gulp formed the landscape of southern Limburg. Now the rivers quietly babble on. Between the streams a phenomenal area has developed: the Heuvelland. Characteristic villages and towns lie hidden between the green meadows and picturesque standard orchards, trout swim in the clear streams. Prepare yourself for great differences in altitude, roads with hairpin turns, limestone quarries and amazing views. It feels like a piece of foreign country in the backcountry! Old buildings are beautifully situated in the valley, each with its own story. This region is surrounded by history, legends and special stories. Get off at one of the interesting turn-off points and take a well-deserved break. Let the overwhelming natural beauty sink in while you enjoy the Burgundian hospitality.
