Langbroek is known for its many castles. There are so many that they sometimes call the village a 'ribbon of castles'! Most castles are located along the water of the Langbroekerwetering: a drainage canal in Langbroek, dug in the 12th century. Not long after that, the first castles were built. Sterkenburg is the oldest, built around 1196. But this is not the only beautiful thing about Langbroek. Did you know that part of this place is a protected village sight? There are dozens of national monuments. Get off your bike and walk through this treasure trove of historical beauty. On the way, you will cycle through beautiful country estates of cultural and historical value. The surroundings are interspersed with beautiful farms and you will enjoy rural space and peace.
