What could be better than exploring the history of buildings, collections and lifestyles of our own country. For example, Castle Nijenhuis and Manor den Alerdinck were built around the 17th century. Over the centuries, many different noble families have found their residence here. We cycle on to the 18th century and arrive at the history of the Windesheimer Mill, built in 1748. In Museum De Laarman in Luttenberg you go even further back to the farming life of the 18th and 19th century. Through a large collection of objects, documents and prints you experience how these farmers lived, resided and worked back then. While cycling through Raalte we suddenly find ourselves in the history of the 20th century. On the Zwolsestraat you’ll find the American Motorcycle Museum, where a collection of motorcycles is exhibited with a history from the early 1900s to the 1980s. Plenty to discover in Overijssel, hop on your bike and uncover the history of this area.
