This compact cycle route along various country estates and manor houses is ideal if you have a little less time. Start your cycle route from the car park at Warmelo Castle, for example. The castle is privately occupied, but the gardens can be visited in the season against payment. The most famous resident of Warmelo Castle was Princess Armgard, the mother of Prince Bernhard. The gardens in various styles are a feast for the eyes. The cycle route continues past the oldest manor house in the region, Diepenheim Castle, which was mentioned as early as 1177. The gardens of Weldam Castle can be visited at set times for a fee; the surrounding estate is freely accessible in daylight.
