Cycling route along the winding Meuse

The Meuse rises in France and flows into our country via Belgium. The river is very important for shipping traffic. That wasn’t always easy, which is why the River Improvement Works Act was passed in 1915. The construction of weirs, canals and the cutting off of bends greatly improved the river's navigability. Cycle in the tip of Limburg along the banks of the Meuse and be surprised by the southern villages and the city of Maastricht. Is 46 kilometres too long in one go? Then split the route in two with an overnight stay and enjoy a lovely cycling weekend! Please note: between junctions 52 and 17 you need to take the Uikhoven-Geulle ferry. This runs from April to October (in April and October only at weekends, from May to September every day).
