Sint Adelbert Abbey, well known for more than a thousand years, is a Benedictine abbey in Egmond-Binnen. The remains of Saint Adelbert of Egmond rest under the altar of the abbey church. With a break after the Reformation, there has been a community of Benedictine monks in Egmond for more than a thousand years, who pray and work daily and bear witness in life and work to how good a life with God is. Benedictine monks form a contemplative community. Yet the mission of the community is not only to serve God and each other, but also to bear witness to the space that this way of life gives.
