Oudaen Castle - Breukelen

N 52.1605259 / E 5.0147853

Oudaen Castle was probably founded by a member of the Loenersloot family in 1300. It is understood that its first residents spent most of the year in Utrecht and used the castle as their country house. On the North side of the castle you can find a landscaped garden that is the remainder of the beech forest lined with a net of pretty paths that was planted in 1830. This garden can be entered via a drawbridge. A farmhouse dating back to the 17th century can be found where the knights castle once stood. The castle entrance is still located at the Southern edge. The castle and castle gardens are closed to the public.
